Age Is Just a Number

"Die Young as Late as Possible"

This quote strongly resonates with me...it's how I want to live my life and it's also the mindset of so many patients and clients I work with. Time continues to pass us by and every one of us gets older each day. We can't change it or stop it regardless of how much we try, but we can however, change our outlook on life and our priorities to make the most of our time here.

I have chosen to work with a very specific group of people. Of course, I treat many conditions like strains and sprains, work or sport related injuries, car accidents, etc. However, I really specialize in treating people in their 50s and 60s who want to stay as young as they can for as long as possible. They want to be active and enjoy the zest of life with those most important to them, without things like degeneration or arthritis getting in their way. They value things like walking around the neighborhood or taking trips with their family and will do anything they can to stay healthy and not miss out! This special group of people value their health and quality of life so much, they do not hesitate to address a problem or pain that arises (AS SOON as it occurs), preventing it from becoming a bigger, less manageable problem that threatens their daily life and activities. Once the problem is identified and resolved, they make sure to set themselves up for success to continue their progress and minimize their risk for re-injury.

My role in this journey is to provide knowledge and solutions that allow them to stay on track. I act as a resource for my patients when they have questions, regardless of whether or not they are currently in treatment. When a problem arises, we work together to find the best solution for them both in the short and long term. After they are discharged from my care, the relationship doesn't end. It just transitions from a "fixing" stage to a "maintenance" stage. At that point, they are independent and in charge of their health and physical functioning. I am here to provide support and "tune-ups" as needed, as well as be a watchful eye for any risks for injury or decline down the road.

Do you want to stay healthy, young and active but are unsure where to start? Give me a call at (504) 407-3477 or email me at christy.shea@tandempt.com. I would love to chat with you on where you are currently as well as where you would like to be in 1 month, 6 months and even 5 years. A free phone consultation could be the first step toward the healthier, younger lifestyle you've been searching for.
